The delegates were amazed by the magnificence of this man-made wonder, taking a bit of time to consider how the structure was built without the help of modern machines.

Brian Park from Great Britain, in his 60s, insisted on climbing the highest mountain in that area. Park asserted that the Great Wall is no doubt a miracle.

On the topic of the environment, he said that Beijing has delivered the promises it made in its Olympic bid step by step. The living conditions of the Chinese people, especially in Beijing, have continued to improve, and the environment in Beijing and the Olympic co-host cities is already up to the standards of the Olympic Games, he said.

Park believes that in the final 288 days till the start of the Beijing Olympic Games, the Chinese government and people will adopt more up-to-date measures to improve the environmental quality.

The world conference, scheduled from October 25 to 27, 2007 in Beijing, is organized jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Beijing 2008 Organizing Committee (BOCOG), in close partnership with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
