The Great Wall of China History - Wei State

Ruin of the Wei State WallWei was a small state in the Warrior States Periods and encountered threats from the much more powerful Qin and other states. To ensure the security of its capital and protect its people, Wei State constructed the Hexi Wall and Henan Wall in succession.

Hexi Wall, historically called ”Binluo Wall”, stretched from the Huashan Valley of Huangshan Mountain in Shannxi Province to the Yellow River bed in Hancheng County. It measured several hundred meters in length. This section of the wall was constructed from 361 AD to 352 AD.

No historical documents are available on the construction of the Henan Wall. It was generally believed that the wall started from the northeast of Yuanyang County in Henan Province and ended in Mixian County.
